Default 2010 1500 won't start!! ANY info will help!!

My 2010 1500 Hemi won't start. I put the key in and turn and everything comes on (lights, radio, chimes, etc) but it will not crank. It wont even attempt to crank or turn over. What's going on and what can I do?

Start with the starter relay. It's possible that it went bad. Just find which one it is in the TIPM (under the hood) and swap another relay into it (preferably one that isn't crucial to making the vehicle run otherwise you aren't any further ahead). If that's not the problem my next guess would be the neutral safety switch. If it's not working correctly and doesn't know the truck is in park or neutral it won't allow it to turn over. Start with those and see what happens. If that doesn't fix it, come back and we'll try to trouble shoot some more.

That's a good point from 1stRAM2012 above. I wasn't thinking about that

If it is under warranty just give your dealer a call and tell them to come pick it up and get it fixed. It's 100% their problem.

Would this fall under the Power-tran warranty? That's still good. Is there any other warranty that I should know about. It's a 2010 with 58,000 miles.

My guess is that it should fall under the powertrain warranty.... Your best bet is to give your dealership a call or email and ask them.... they'll be able to tell you for sure.

Yes, you can get this covered under the Powertrain Warranty most definitely OneRoe. The 5year/100,000 mile PowerTrain Limited Warranty covers the engine, transmission, and drive system. Even being used, the warranty stays with the truck. And being that it could be either the starter, starter solenoid, or neutral safety switch, I'd say those parts are part of the engine and transmission. Great luck and let us know what your dealer finds bud.

My friend with a 03 Chev had the same problem and it ended up being the battery.. Give a try at jumping the truck and see what happens. All of the other posts above are most likely what is wrong, but giving a jump or trying a different battery to see if might just be messed up.

Yes I agree with CHP. Even though the battery may show 12.5VDC, the moment the ignition is turned on and the battery takes a load to start, the battery volts could fall below the required amount of voltage to power the ECM(normally a minimum of 10VDC). And being that your truck is a 2010, if this is still the original equipment battery, it may be all you need to get your beast running again. Troubleshooting can be tough but if you start with the basics(battery voltage, fuses, connections), before removing the component in question, you might just surprise yourself.

Just because..

Once you have checked your battery and if it turns out to be good.. try shifting your truck into neutral then try to start it.

Just something else to try.
