I've always run 4x4's. Mostly fullsize Jeeps. That said alot of guys I in our local club run Aussie or Spartan. There are good and strong but noisy when turning on pavement and kind of chunky in the dirt. As a cheap lunchbox locker, I say go for it.

If you're putting a mechanical locker in the rear of your truck, I personally would not recommend a lunch box locker. Spend the extra couple hundred bucks on a Detroit. You won't regret it.

i wouldnt do a spartan or aussie locker in the rear. "clunky!"... maybe a detroit tru trac in the rear. smooth and strong... better powertrax no slip in the frt. if a lunch box locker at all thats the one i would use. the no slip is a quiet locker and can be used up to 350hp. dont think i would trust it in the 9 1/4 though i have read good reviews!

I have run both the Aussie and Spartan in Jeeps and Bronco's. They are noisy, but they work well. Install is pretty easy (if your mechanically inclined) and you never have to think about them. You will know the are there, but you get used to it real fast.
