Question Integrated Brake Controller Issue Not the normal ones!

So I have a 10' Laramie that did not come with the factory controller. I had the dealer install it and add it to the build sheet so it would show up in the EVIC. The controller was crap didn't perform very well and eventually died. I took it out and installed a aftermarket controller. Since the install every time I start the truck it says "Service Trailer Brake System". The truck is looking for the factory controller that was removed and not finding it so it thinks there is something wrong. I have gone to my dealership 3 times now to have them remove the controller from the build sheet so the truck stops looking for it and giving me the error code at every start up. Today I was at the dealer and they again tried to remove it with no luck. The service writer even called Chrysler and asked if they were doing something wrong. Chrysler said once the code is added it can not be removed. Is there anyone that might have gone through this and can offer up any advice? Its not the end of the world but a hassle to clear the code at every start up.
Thanks in Advance!

Have you considered having the dealer install a new factory controller? My Ram came with it from the factory & it works absolutely superbly!

Charlie,
Thanks for the suggestion. I now have a Tekonsha Prodigy P3 controller that I am so impressed with I could never go back to the factory one. I am wondering if there is a extra wire not used by the aftermarket controller that I can somehow hook up so the truck thinks the controller is still there.

Glad you have a controller that you are happy with. I've got zero knowledge about the truck's wiring that would be helpful..... Maybe someone else who knows more of such things can chime in.... Good luck!

Ok I played around a little with the second plug the other day. This plug is the one every one is talking about to make the EVIC work. The 09's didn't have it. It is not needed for an aftermarket controller. It has 5 wires coming into it. Two pair up. So only 3 spots for connection. One has 12v that comes on and off with the ignition. The other 2 have 1.5v+/- with key off and 2.5v+/- with the key on. I tried touching them together to see if that would make the truck think there was a controller but no luck. It just made the truck ding.
Any ideas?
