Thanks Blackhawk13,

My zip is 08087 and truck specs are this:

Quick Order 26k (V8 Hemi), Convenience, and Protection Packages
Anti Spin Rear Diff

everything else was standard in the build dropdowns on USAA and Ram's website

The rest is just my color choices. Two Tone Black Gold Pearlcoat w/ White Gold and the Lite Frost interior with Filigree seats.

USAA sent a email certificate to your email address *******. The certificate number is *********. It is worth $1000.00. USAA has you at ******. In order to use that you will need USAA to re-issue with your correct address. The current "base" minimum rebate is $1500, but like I said you might be entitled to more rebate money.
If you do trade youe Acura we would give you the actual wholesale value against the $47318 price, and that would lower your taxable base."

Ordy,

Your deal is bad. I'm assuming you have a USAA certificate that used all rebates right now correct? So with that assumption, the price you are being quoted includes $1500 Consumer Cash and $1000 USAA? FORGET ALL REBATES for now. Focus on the price BEFORE rebates.

MSRP = $53,165
Invoice = $48649
Holdback = $1559

Invoice - Half Holdback = $47,869
Invoice - All Holdback = $47,090

I think you should shoot for between $47,090 and $47,869 BEFORE rebates are applied. His $299 documentation fee also seems high. The Tax, Title and License fees are what they are but $299 is very high on documentation. The standard I've paid on doc fees is $50.

Are my hands tied as far as what I can negotiate? Believe me. I would love to have them include all their fees into the "out the door price" but I'm not counting on it. One of the costs this dealership adds on is "Window Etching $299.00". I've read that window etching is a bogus charge and you can negotiate that out of the deal. I am hoping the rebates and incentives get better the longer I wait.

Thank you,

Ordy

Hey Blackhawk, I hate your avatar since you beat my bruins for the cup last year. But I'd love to have you with me when I shop for a truck.

Ordy,

No your hands aren't tied. Window etching is something dealers do to pad their profits. I generally steer away from dealerships that put add ons like "Protection Package" "etc. because they are just profit padders for the dealers. One of my local dealers puts a $599 "Protection Package" on every vehicle in addition to other "add-ons".

Are you ordering or trying to buy off the lot? Also, that price you were quoted was from your USAA Car Buying service price you did online to get the certificate? Either way, stay with the numbers I gave you and be prepared to go elsewhere. You can shop all the dealers around you or go elsewhere. I live in San Antonio now and I bought my 2009 Ram from Houston and my 2011 JGC from Dallas all because local dealers got crushed. Stay with it and you'll be successful!

Let me know if I can help further!

LOL...that was a great series though wasn't it? To be honest, I was surprised we only had 1 goal to that point at the end and I knew we'd bring a furious rush at the end with pulling the goalie and all but I figured it was going back to Chicago for Game 7. That 17 seconds was absolutely unreal! After I calmed down a bit from the utter excitement of what happened, I felt bad for Boston fans since it happened in Boston because I know if that happened to my team, I would have been shell shocked. It was a great series for sure! We could very well see a rematch this year!

And if you need any help negotiating a new vehicle purchase, let me know and I'd be glad to help!

Yeah we've had a bitter rivalry against them and Phoenix after what Torres did to Hossa back in the 12 playoffs with that cheap headshot that knocked him out the rest of the season! Anyway...let me know when you're ready and what your specs are, etc and I'll definitely help you out.

If you've already decided you have to order because nobody has a truck you want on the lot like me, then just contact the big city guys. Durango. 5 hours from Co Springs. I did contact one of the big guys down in Albuquerque. Couple hundred dollars difference. I'd pay that much in gas going down there. Not sure it's really worth the effort to go all the way over to the front range.

Have you tried Grand Junction or T&C in Salida? Those are just about a two hour drive from you. If you have a dealer that is willing to do it at FFP that isn't bad. Even getting 100% holdback and then another $251 at the moment, that puts me $1316 below FFP. I agree driving 5 hrs for a couple hundred dollars isn't worth it but did you counter that FFP dealer? Try the two above I mentioned and see what they say. Ordering is always a little tougher than buying off the lot as I'm sure you know since the commission is two months away instead of instantly but I'm sure you will get what you want! Stay at it!
