There's a dealership in Fairfax, VA that has the exact Longhorn I want on their lot. Color and options are perfect. They are advertising a WoW price of $44,357 off of a sticker price of $54,680. If they will not honor that price because I don't qualify for every rebate under the sun is there a chance in hell of getting them to within a $500 range of that $44,357 price? They also mention freight not included which is $995.00 and doc fee not included which is $500. So that's $1495.00 is fees alone. This kinda sucks because it's the truck I want right there on the lot. How would you approach this dealership?

There are probably a few things I am forgetting to list on here but the truck stickered for $54,565 and ended up paying $44,463 with no money down or trade. I am switching from my 2013 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ Z-71. So far I am more than pleased with the power, room, comfort, and look of the truck. I have only had it for 2 weeks, but I have also added a BAKflip F1 bed cover and shaved all the badges except for the Ram head on the tailgate.
Seriously, how did you manage that? What were the rebates that you got? No way I'm getting that deal in my part of the country.

Before I went with the Larimine I was going to factory order a sport, fully loaded minus ram box and sunroof, price was 41k Canadian, you must be able to get at least that in the States at that price or less.

Ordy,

TERRIBLE DEALER...STAY AWAY! Seriously? $500 doc fee? OMG! $50-$100 is norm. Freight fee for what? Delivering it to you? The MSRP already includes delivery charge ($1195). When dealers pull that crap on advertisements, it includes EVERY rebate possible which just about NOBODY qualifies for. The fine print and link to this 'deal' you're talking about is below. Remember what I was saying earlier...FOCUS on the price BEFORE rebates. Shoot for invoice minus at least half the holdback. You can calculate the holdback by subtracting the destination charge from the MSRP and then multiplying the result by 0.03.

* We make every effort to provide accurate information, but please verify options and price before purchasing. All vehicles are subject to prior sale. All prices are special internet prices only. All financing is subject to approved credit. All new vehicle prices exclude freight. Tax, tags, and processing fee of $499 additional. WOW prices include all applicable rebates and incentives. Some included rebates may require financing through the manufacturer and are therefore subject to credit approval. Some included rebates may require a Trade-In. Additional rebates and incentives, such as Military or College Graduate programs, may apply to those who qualify. WOW pricing may not be compatible with special factory financing. WOW prices are valid based on manufacturer incentive program time periods, which vary by make. See dealer for details.

Thanks Blackhawk13. The rebate deals are all expired now so I think I am going to forget all about the truck purchase and save my money. If a great offer comes through then I'll try again but for now I am going to stop the process. The Longhorns are being advertised below $45,000 in certain places after rebates. Once I can get an out the door price of $43k - $44k range then I will start moving again. Until then I am gonna forget all about it. I am wondering about future rebates coming down the line here in the next couple of months. Anyone in the business know anything?

This thread is exactly what I have been looking for. I am about to purchase a new RAM Laramie Longhorn, Crew Cab, 4x4, short and want it fully loaded including air suspension, Rambox, Convenience/Protection/Trailer groups, Anti-spin, Parksense, 3.92 rear, tonneau, cattle tan/Black with all black mono outside.......and I am willing to wait for the ecodiesel.

I am a Vet using the USAA car buying service and before I decided on the ecodiesel I was shopping around and found I needed to order what I wanted anyway because the dealers around here (Columbus GA) could not locate what I wanted. Even talking with them they wouldn't go near USAA pricing which is crazy since this is a military town, so I will need to hit Atlanta area dealers.

So based on USAA the Total MSRP would be 58,580 for what I want.
49,105 base
+8280 in options
+1195 Destination fee

Estimated Dealer according to USAA:
43,019 Base
+7041 options
+1195 destination
-4,000 incentives (500 military, 2500 cash allowance started today, 1000 USAA)
47225 total

I mean that is 11,325 off MSRP.

Given what I have read here should I be trying to get some more money off this, like part of the holdback which I guess would be around another $800 for half? Is that even possible when you need to order what you want?

Thanks again, this thread has helped me out a lot. This is going to be my present to myself when the VA decides to finally decides to finish the rest of my disability ratings so I am going to treat myself good on this.

There are still some rebates available. Anywhere from 2000-3500. The RAM site was updated a little earlier today.
