Default 2 weeks in, some questions

Had my Ram for 2 weeks now and have some questions if anyone has and insight.

1 - Can you program the buttons on the backside of the steering wheel? I would find it more convenient if the left side up/down cycled through your presets and the middle button changed am/fm/xm. And the right middle button was mute.

2 - Average Speed in Trip on EVIC. How in the world is this computed. I just took a 600km road trip...first 2km I did 80km/h...next 100km i did 105km/h...next 200km I did 118km/h. My average speed in my trip computer said 97, this was all highway no slowing down for stops. Then the next 300km was again at 118km/h...by the time i reached my hotel my average speed was up to 108km/h. The way i figure it my average should be way higher than it was.

3 - Is there a way to tell if the MDS is active? Other than by sound as I have read. Does your current fuel mileage readout cut in half or anything?

4 - Average fuel economy in the EVIC. Can you reset this or is it just over the life of the vehicle or your average over the last so many miles?

5 - People with front buckets. In your center armrest compartment, do you need to really slam the lid of the top door (where your usb, sd slots are) to get it to latch shut? I seem to have to really bang mine to shut it, wondering if its normal or I need to mention it on my 1st service.

6 - Had this happen a few times, my 8.4 goes nuts. I usually have my radio volume set around 15, sometimes it will read like 2 but still has the volume of 15 and you need to turn the volume down to zero and keep turning it down then back up to get it back to normal. Also, ive had my blower set to vents and nothing blows out of the front vents, need to turn it to defrost then back to vent to get it to blow.

1 - No, not that I know of. Sorry.
2 - It includes stopped time. If you got gas, or red lights, etc.
3 - No. The ECO is eye candy and useless. There are threads on this, and one guy said he set up his own indicator.
4 - Yes. I think it's holding down the right arrow button.
5 - Yes, I've noticed this too.
6 - I've not had any problems like this at all. I don't remember reading about anything like this either. You might try a soft boot. Press the center of the two knobs, and hold until the radio resets. It'll just take a couple of minutes to reboot.

I couldn't believe that none of the buttons on the steering was for mute.

Yeah, if I could switch one button on the wheel for a mute button it would be that back, right center. I would use it as a mute more often than switching sources.

Just got my Ram 1500, yesterday. Regarding #5, yeah, you gotta SLAM that thing to close! I'm not pleased at ALL, about this. My driver-side door doesn't close worth a sh**, either. I attribute that to the vehicle being brand new, and the door seals need to break in a little. That's caused my the vacuum created in the truck. Unless I'm missing something, I hate the fact that you can't stop/pause the timer without resetting it, and it just starts right over, counting. Ugh.

I also have to shut my center console harder than I want to. It was worse during the first month, but now it appears to be better, so maybe with time it goes away.
