Default Towing w my Ram

Howdy

I tow trailers with my truck, anything from a 12 to a 22 foot snowmobile trailer. Is it necessary to use the tow feature? The motor and gear ratio seem fine not in tow. No excessive downshifting or noticeable drag.
I have gotten 13 mpg tucked about 6 lengths behind a tractor trailer at 65 mph freeway speed in 6th gear. I have gotten about 10 mpg in tow mode at 70 mph and no draft. [same road] Not a huge difference but still 30% on a 110 mile trip. What do you think?

thanks 511

You did not mention the weight you are towing, but your description would indicate not a lot of weight relative to the very capable Hemi, so you are probably ok not using it. But I would, particularly if there are hills or mountains involved in your travels. The tow/haul switch is your friend.
