So did you buy the Viper? To answer your question, yes I can't stand it, unfortunately time sometimes gets in the way of doing anything about it.

Yes I'm OCD on cleanliness. The pressure washer does such a great job.

Why, yes. I did buy it. Put it on lay-away. Should be picking it up sometime in the summer. (Of 2050)

I am a psycho when it comes to the cleanliness of my Ram. Hands down. Husband says I should be committed. I wash her at least twice a week with one full detail every weekend. I, too, am known to polish her up before going into town. I would be devastated if anyone ever saw her with even a smudge.

Case in point:
I had just washed her in town. I'm parked in the credit union parking lot. Before I can bring myself to go inside, I have to polish off all water marks from all of the chrome. ALL of it. I am on my hands and knees with my Shamwow, wiping down even the hidden interior side of the side steps.

And it doesn't stop there. Anytime I return to my rig from anywhere and I notice a smudge on a door handle? Yep. Time must stand still for me to get my trusty Shamwow out and buff it off.

Again, husband says I am pathetic and need to be committed. I should be worried, but he always has a slight smirk on his face.. so I assume I am in the clear.

Serves me right.. I replied before reading beyond the OP's opening post.. And now for the rest of my reply..

We have an open air car port at our house. The open, pull in is the West facing 'wall', the house creates the North wall, and the East and South 'walls' are stretched with chicken wire and is infested with overgrown ivy (blech!). We have sparrows who nest in the ivy (and apparently a resident bull snake likes to climb and slither around in there too ). Now, there is no avoiding the ivy leaves being blown every which way.. just have to deal. When I first brought my Ram home last October, I didn't even fight or allow for an argument.. I *told* my husband I would be taking the spot closest to the house. I'll be damned if our resident sparrows crap on my new truck!

Here, here to avoiding road work and construction zones! If at all possible, I take every precaution to go around these as I cannot *stand* the sound of loose gravel spraying on my truck!

Puddles are a special topic. If my truck is dirty or if it's raining, then I'm splashing rubber and rinsing rims! But, if I just washed my truck, then hell yeah I'm going to avoid them. Where I live, every other house has a water wheel in their two acre front yard. And I swear it never fails.. I wash my truck and have to drive by (there is only one way out of my neighborhood) and at least one of those wheels is on and pushed up to the fence by the road. Over spray. Ugh. Then I have to repolish when I park at the grocery store! Not that I don't mind buffing my truck (obviously) but that kind of polishing is just down right annoying.

I got my fist door ding scratch (pair at that)! I guess not a bad run for 3 1/2 years and yes it's black so clean is mandatory. Which is not always easy when you live in Seattle WA
My Ram has proven to be a WONDERFUL weight loss tool! I swear it's better than Weight Watchers and double as affective as NutriSystem! For the last year, I have parked out in the boonies of every parking lot and hoof it in. The reason being?

Picture this if you will: A beat up late model Ford Bronco (not picking on them, there are just a lot of them in my town) and a 2010 or newer Ram or Chevy are both parked in the same lot, but a distance is between them. Which one do *you* think has an owner that cares about their vehicle enough to pay attention and try not to ding YOUR truck? I usually can find a lone spot away from other vehicles, but this scenario happens frequently for me where I have to choose which vehicle to park next to and I choose the 2010 Chevy every time.

Now, at my place of work, I have no option. There are, maybe, twenty spots in the front lot with only six employee spots in the back and those are always taken by doctors and physical therapists so I am forced to park in the front with the clients. Ugh. About three months ago we were suffering from high winds for about a week. I come out to get in my truck and I about die. A very faint, but noticeable to me of course, dent on the body right above the driver's door handle. Appears someone didn't hold onto their door very well and it banged right into the lovely new truck beside them. And then they left. Pisses me off. Hence, the reason I park in the next town over and hoof it to where I'm going.

Duh, yeah me here . And I have black which makes it 10x worse.

My buddies all have lifted 20 year old 4x4 fords and chevys, and they give me hell because I don't go trail ridin' with 'em or wont come pull 'em out when they get stuck.

No, nuh-uh. My Ram might be a 4x4, but its pretty much bad weather/hauling the 7k lb bayliner up the slippery ramp/emergency use only. This black is too hard to clean and too easy to scratch to take it through anything other than large puddles and the occasional SHALLOW mudhole. I even cringe on gravel roads. Goodyear Wrangler SR-A is not a mudding tire, and without a leveling kit, I am in no condition to come save your ass without breaking my $42,000 truck...so no. I bought it to haul my boat, and hay/feed for the horses back home, and occasionally landscaping products or large car parts. My idea of a good time does not include dragging tree branches down the side of my pristine black paint, bouncing my chrome bumpers off of a ledge, or generally just ****ing shit up for the hell of it. Warranty does not cover stupidity, and insurance doesnt always either.
