Well did the first real tow today, about 200 miles. The truck did good, I got a little bit of sway above 65 on the highway so I back it down to about 60. I ran the tires at 40psi and the air lift at 30psi. I will be buying tires really soon. My trailer loaded is no where close to 1000lbs hitch weight. I do not dry came so i never have tanks full of water or waste. The experience was good. I will post pics of the site tomorrow with the trailer and of the trailer hooked up.

If you really have a 700 lb tonque weight on a 7500 lb trailer, it's no wonder it is swaying. That is WAY too low of a tongue weight for a trailer that heavy. It really should be at least 900 lbs (12%) to tow well.

"Dry weight" doesn't mean what I think you think it means either.

You need to figure out why it is swaying to the point you feel like you can't go more than 60 MPH. That's not normal and frankly, doesn't sound safe. If your TW really is as light as you think, that could be the problem right there.

How is the level of the TT when all hitched up? It should be a bit tongue down. Having the tongue up could contribute to sway also.

The door sticker is for the minimum vehicle weight capacity. It is meaningless when towing. E rated tires don't necessarily need to be run a max but if run at too low of a pressure will make handling sluggish and even dangerous when towing.

The trailer sits fairly level, I am going to adjust the pressure in my air lift for the ride home to get the tongue down a little more. I am extremely new to towing anything in the class and wight of a travel trailer, i apologize if i am in in accurate or not sure of what i am talking about. I am still researching and trying to learn, so if what I say does not make sense please let me know, i will not be upset by it at all. For all my weights I am just going off the manufacture specs.

I noticed in one of your above posts that you said it started to sway above 65mph. I highly recommend staying around 60mph when towing. Not only to avoid sway (which the truck will mostly automatically compensate for), but the faster you are going the longer it will take to stop in an emergency.
