They're already .iso format so just put it how you got it onto a blank thumb drive. The thumb drive should be formatted as FAT32, so you may re-format it if you'd like to make sure it is.
I re-downloaded the file to make sure i got the right one and formatted the stick with FAT32 this time and it worked fine. Thanks.

Default If have added the 599 nav?

If you have had the dealer install the 599.00 navigation to your radio. Do i then need the RA4 vs RA3. Because when I input my VIN in wants to download RA3_13_38_52. I just don't want to loose my Navigation and have to schedule a day to complain and prove they have did it once for me and need to reload.

Do you have the right update? There's one of the radios without NAV and a different one for those with NAV.

I don't believe these things have to be a problem, but was told by Uconnect staff to make sure:

- you have no personal files on your USB thumb drive--this doesn't mean no files, they will have some software and a file or two on them that came with them. But delete any personal stuff.

- avoid high capacity drives. I was told 8 meg or less is best. The small ones are real cheap these days.

I don't know if either of those are required, I do think they help in getting the most clean and fast install you can. Plus I would bet the first thing Uconnect tech folks would do if you call with an installation isssue is to point to one of those two issues as the problem, even when it isn't.

If you did all that I'd be curious to see if logging in makes a difference for you. It is possible that is required to "prep" your radio I suppose. Would be nice if Dodge would tell you that if it is but they don't seem to be too inclined to make this easy for us or dealers!
I think I did it right. Downloaded from UConnect and extracted file then moved over to Flashdrive (which I reformated in FAT32) The flashdrive is 32g.

I made sure that truck was powered down and then hit the remote start twice to get it to run mode (foot of brake) and then put flashdrive in. Nothing happened. Radio just started playing like always. When I get home tongiht I will try it again now that I have registered radio with UConnect.

Did mine last night and nothing happened. I figured the flash drive I was using (cheap brand, 8gb) was not responding with my radio. So, this morning I used a more reputable brand (sandisk) and BAM, got that sucker to work.

Don't be alarmed if your radio doesn't prompt you with the update option when you turn the key to "run." It took a couple of seconds for mine to pop up. Also, don't freak out if the radio just goes black and then goes back to the installation screen a couple of times while it does its thing.

Just on observation, but wasn't the fan speed (climate) color on the screen orange before. Now, mine is white. Or, am I nuts?

I noticed that right away. For a second I didn't know if the fan was on since that color didn't show up.

Tried this today. First time, the radio just started up and ignored the usb although the LED was flashing on the USB drive. Turned it off and on a couple times and the message popped up on the radio screen. It finished in about 12 minutes. Couldn't turn on the seat warmers while it updated, but everything else went smooth. The updates are just as expected. Best of all, when I deleted my Galaxy S4 (Tmobile) and added again, the message functionality is now available to me. Thanks to all for sharing their experiences.

First thing I noticed is my back up camera is clear. Blurry before the update.
