Who knows, not the same at all for me. Mine came with 13.10, did the 13.15 update and all was fine. But 13.19 really knocked the media and overall volume down, 13.38 and its all pretty even now.

Had a bit more of a chance to run mine through its paces after installing the update.

I thought the volume levels improved a bit with the update on mine.

Voice recognition--formerly completely non functional and a joke (really, it was funny to attempt tos use!), now works--sort of. New is a text reminder of what to say when you turn it on--and instead of doing what it thought you said when that was wrong, it spits back choices of what the system thought it heard you say. Seems like it gets one of those right now.

So before, you'd tell it to "call Ted Cell" and it would change the radio. Now you get a message telling you exactly how to say you want to call Ted's cell--then "call Ted cell" will be one of three options you have to pick from (the other two still quite wrong). Pick the right option and ted's cell is ringing.

I hope it teaches itself over time though or it's not likely to be any use--easier to do everything manually.

Re: Radio quality--still issues here. AM in particular still sounds like I am in a perpetual electric storm at times. I wonder if it isn't an antenna issue now.

So I used the new (I think it's new at least) "assist" feature that allows you to call customer care through your radio system directly, while the truck is on.

Was told by customer care to go to the dealer for that again. I say again becuase I brought it to the dealer a month ago to "document the issue" per their advice. At the time the dealer didn't do anything other than say wait for the flash update that will fix it. I might start a separate thread on this one.

Would these updates work for a 2009 laramie?

I just downloaded the file off Mega, copied it an 8Gb flash drive, and tried the upload. The system recognized the drive, told me I had 3.19 and the drive had 3.8 and asked me if I wanted to update. I said yes. The screen went blank for a while then flashed and finally popped up a message saying something to the effect that I had VP4 on the stick and the system was VP3 and said to remove the drive to reset. I did that all seems well, so I guess I didn't bugger anything up.

So what is VP4 and VP3? I do have Nav and followed the link to the file for the Nav system.

Just a guess, but did you have the NAV as original equipment or was it added at the dealer? Maybe if the radio was upgraded to the nav it takes the non-nav update file.

Well, I did the update over the weekend on my 13 2500. I initially had a problem where it got stuck trying to update the air card driver; had to restart the whole install. Second time it worked (I had my iPad with me on my apartment's Wi-Fi...think it might've interfered as I threw it into airplane mode when it got to that part of the install and it proceeded without a hitch). Been working fine until today when as I was leaving work this evening it rebooted three times. Really sick of software issues...*facepalm*

You have the RA3 radio with the Navigation option added to it. If you don't have the HD audio on FM stations, you have the RA3. Download the RA3 file and put that on the USB drive and try again.

You can't use the RA4 file on an RA3 radio. The RA4 file (or "VP4") is only for radios with the built-in Navigation and HD Radio.

Also, for any of you having volume issues, try either doing a factory reset (hold both temperature up and temperature down together), or re-loading the 13.38.52 update a second time. Should (might) normalize everything...
