Thank you Bighorn453. I used your download and it was easy. Took 15-20 min to download from Mega. At the end of the download, it asked me where to save it. I saved to a USB Flashdrive and then went outside, placed the stick in the USB port, turned the ignition On to accessories, but did not start the truck. After a few seconds the screen came up asking me if I wanted to do the update. I clicked yes and the rest was easy. Took about fifteen minutes. After it was all done, the radio came on and started playing music so I pulled the stick and started the engine. All good here. Thanks again for your help!!

Exclamation

THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO UPDATE:

- The extracted update file (swdl.iso).
- A BLANK USB thumb drive (at least 1GB).
(Make sure there are no other files on it.)

DOWNLOAD UCONNECT UPDATE 13.38.52

- Official uConnect Update Site:

https://rsur.extra.chrysler.com/rsur/Uconnect.do
(If the above site is used, you must make sure to run the self-extracting .exe which you've downloaded, and put the extracted .iso file onto the USB drive!)

OR

- RA3 8.4A (Without Navigation):
https://mega.co.nz/#!HpJmFYyL!aCqb6V...veOHurzODPBbko

- RA4 8.4AN (WITH Navigation):
https://mega.co.nz/#!H1xQzZ4T!fNv7Qn...LZF9x0aXpMBfiA

(Please DO NOT share these links outside of this forum!)

Once you transfer the software update file (swdl.iso) to the USB drive, follow the instructions (attached below) to begin installation process.

The update should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.

SOME ANSWERS TO THE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

- Make sure if you download the file from a link other than the official uConnect site that you download the proper file for your radio (RA3 or RA4).
- If the update seems to stop around 40% on the Air Card Update (Unit 10), this is normal. It is a big part of the update. BE PATIENT!
- If your radio reboots at all during installation, this is fine. It should reboot and continue the installation process.
- You may notice some settings missing at first, but they will come back shortly (usually within a few minutes).
- Give the radio up to 24 hours to allow it to communicate with other modules and restore everything to how it was.
- Should anything go wrong, you can restart from the beginning.

I did my update last night and it was done in about 15 mins. No hiccups or issues aside from losing AM/FM presets. I haven't had a chance to play with it much, but everything seems to be working properly.

I think I'll just have the dealer update me when I get my oil changed.

Ok had a bit of time. I hope I can get this post in before I am booted out by the system again. Maybe will post in several pieces.

My personal status I will explain in a bit, but I still have no update. THis after visiting the dealership for the 2nd time--taking time off of work--per the advice of Ram Uconnect people.

For anyone still w/o the update, the server is still having issues.

This means those of us trying to download it ourselves are SOL too.

Here's what I'd recommend after a long still unresolved experience: Call your dealer, ask them to first get the update downloaded IN THEIR HANDS--then WHEN THEY HAVE THE UPDATE IN THEIR HANDS--have them call you so you can set up an appointment.

You'll get frustrated when you visit the dealer for an update that is available and the dealer can't get it for hours if at all due to server issues. make sure they have it in hand first!

hey that made it through!

Now for more info, this gleaned from several calls directly to Ram Customer service and Uconnect tech support folks in the last couple of days.

1) If you want to download the update yourself,
a) you can't if the server is down
1a continued--NO ONE at Uconnect or your dealer will trouble themself with the simple request of notifying you when the server is back up. You just have to keep trying again and again (or maybe folks here can keep us updated!)
b) any major browser should work, BUT anything that blocks pop-ups will have to be turned off for the download to work
c) you should have an empty (i.e. no personal files on it) USB (thumb) drive to stick the downloaded files on
d) the USB (thumb) drive should ideally be smaller in size, I was told 8 meg or smaller is better
e) when you follow the instrutions and allow flash transfer to your truck, it can take awhile.
f) some functions may be reset to the base level, meaning you will have to reset them to where you want them
g) nothing should disappear entirely, but in the short term that is possible--give the truck a few hours to see if anything that disappears doesn't come back. It should. Remember with these trucks your truck is communicating with the sattelites even when turned off, as long as the battery is connected. The download/fix process may still be functioning after you pull the thumb drive from the truck
h) some of the problems the update will fix are stored for use if needed later. I.e, if you don't currently have the problem nothing may change for that function--if you develop it in the future the system will know how to fix it for you without any intervention by you. I didn't get details on this but it makes sense when you understand the constant link between your truck and uconnect as long as the battery is connected.

Hopefully I captured everything correctly and this helps someone.
