I have a coating on my current vehicle [2 year protection], but I still like to wax it whenever the conditions are ideal.

Your choice of products helps determine how often you need to "wax" your vehicle for the greatest protection.

Try some Opti spray car wax after you dry your truck. It's a lot better quality product and will last you about 6-8 weeks. Spray on wipe off with microfiber towel. Probably will take you 15 minutes tops.

Wax only last about 14 days. A good sealant is the way to go. Their are many different sealants but I like a good acrylic sealant will last a year at the most. Topped with a very good wax you truck and look amazing. But if you truly want to protect your paint seal it
I use URL:http://www.autogeek.net/klassupsizki.html. Love this stuff one pea sized drop is enough to protect your entire hood for 6-12 month.

If your wax only lasts 14 days you have chosen the wrong product. Most professional detailers will agree that a "quality" wax will last about 4 weeks. Opti Spray wax seems to be the exception as it mixes wax with sealant and thats why it last longer than normal. Feel free to read about it at autogeek.net. I agree that for better and longer protection you could use a sealant first and then top it with a quality wax. For the best and longest protection I would use Opti Seal 2.0.
