I mean if you really wanted to spend $100+ on a fake turbo sounding whistle you could get one...

Or just download a recording of a whistle sound onto an ipod and just repeat it everytime you hit the gas?.. Might even be more HP due to less paperweight

How my miles were on your truck when you installed it?, and have you recorded any of the gains actually made? Spacers were designed for carb engines because a carb controls the air flow. A throttle body spacer can't change the amount of air going to the engine as the throttle body is still the same size as it was before. Generally speaking with spacers, they are used for the instal of a nitrous system because it allows a proper location where a machined hole can be put to wire everything up.

To clarify that... they work on a carb'd engine because the fuel is entering through the carb as well. So the spacer gives that air and fuel more time to mix together and flow better which is what creates the power. On a new style fuel injected engine the fuel is injected far past the throttle body. So while the throttle body still controls the amount of air entering the engine, the spacer in no way is give you any gains as all it is doing is giving the air a longer path to travel.

Thanks for clarifying for me.. Don't have much experience with throttle body spacers and carb'd engines

Within the first 5000 miles of a new engine it is the "break in" period and as those miles go up, you will notice slight differences like small milage gain, and maybe bit more power through the seat test.

i installed an AFE cai, gave the truck a great tone. I later intalled an AFE throttlebody spacer.... it took away the nice exhaust tone and replaced it with this annoying whistling,,, ya its now a paper weight.
