Default Rough Running 4.7

Good Morning Dodgers. Reaching out for wish fix. I have overheated my 4.7 Ram and its running a little ruff. Codes gave me injector and coil fixes, did those, still running ruff. No water in oil, no steaming exhaust. Is there an electronic sensor somewhere that is telling the Mayor to run like hell till its replaced or re-set?

Try compression test on all 8 cylinders. Maybe a cylinder leakage test afterwards.

What do you mean by rough? Rough idle, Rough driving down the code. Do you remember which codes came up? Are you sure you purged the system properly of ALL air?

When you overheated "the Mayor", you may have baked a vacuum line and caused a leak. Check all your vacuum hoses.

Default Thanks

What do you mean purged?
The codes were P201 and P357. changed them both and they went away.
Doesnt help it run any better it seems.
I checked spark on all 8, a ok.
Waiting for a longer compression instrument.
The rough idle is -that it is low and will stall if I touch the gas and it idles back. If I just start it and don't touch the gas, It will run for a while without stalling so I can stare at the motor a while, pull coils off etc. The front four don't seem to effect the idleing, when I remove the coil wire.

If I had to guess, I'd say when you overheated you may have warped the heads. Not quite enough to leak antifreeze, but probably enough to lower the compression between two cylinders. You're not gonna like it, but you probably have to take those heads off and get them machined. But do the compression test first. That's a lot less time consuming than removing the heads.

Sounds about right thanks. Waiting for a friend with a longer compression tool. Any good pointers for removing a head if it tests bogeye.
