Exclamation p1391 Need help please

1996 ram2500 5.9 vin z

Has a p-1391 loss of signal to crank or cam sensor.

It has new just installed dist.

Fuel synch was not reset. ( I did purchase a snapon 2500 w/keys, but it ran fine while parked in the shop)

Cam sensor is new

crank sensor is new ( new from oreillys, been told napa or stealer is better?)

Also had plenum and timing chain replaced

Im praying setting fuel synch will fix it.

Im afraid it could be a few teeth off on timing chain, ( I swear it was perfect, all lined up)

What do you guys think?

It runs good, maybe shifts slow but I have never felt it with this new tranny.
Seems engine is hotter than normal, but temp gauge stays at normal.

Please let me know your thoughts on this, also I have a 13 key for the snap on scanner. Been told it needs 13-A?

Wow just came across this thread now, very sorry for the lack of response. It's not like you posted in the wrong spot. I'm glad you got it all sorted out and thanks for posting that you did resolve the issue. I've had threads that I have started that got little response, I think the trick is to try the question again in a more general area and perhaps reword it somewhat. Again sorry for the dismal response you received, the members on here usually jump right in and try to help.

I personally came across this site looking to resolve an issue that I was having. That was three years ago and I still haven't gotten an answer.

However, that did not discourage me. I resolved the issue and posted the solution so you get rep points for that.

The 2nd gen section is the ugly step-child of the Z. It's not that it is intentional but just happens to be that way. I have stuck around in an attempt to help others resolve their issues and hope that you have the tenacity to do the same. I apologize for not having been on for a few days and would have most-assuredly given you my insight.

You have the opportunity to assist the other members in filling a void that we have both personally experienced, but remained determined.

I didn't let my very first post discourage me and ask that you do't let it discourage you either.

I personally apologize for not being available to give the both of you my insight as I have been gone for a few days.

I ask that you don't let it give you a negative impression of the site. There are in fact very knowledgeable members who are always willing to lend a hand and go to great lengths to help others in the community. Call it bad timing, or personal time for the Thanksgiving holiday.
