Personally I wouldn't do it. If you have a serious need for the extra towing or other capabilities it might be worth considering. If you're wanting to do this because it sounds cool I suspect that you'll end up with "buyer's regret".

The 4th gen Rams are a better choice in my opinion,

good luck

I've got to agree with this. The 6.7 is a strong engine and a lot of people have had good luck with it, but you have the DPF and EGR to deal with. If it was a year older and a 5.9, I'd say jump on it.

6.7's are def not 5.9's.
I wouldn't own one off warranty

I'd trade and not look back. A DPF delete pipe, programmer for the deletes, and EGR delete can be done under a grand. Less if you shop it.

I'm not knocking the Hemi, but it's no Cummins.

Also, the Ecodiesel and Cummins are on opposite ends of the spectrum. Not even in the same league.

hard one. even though the CTD is just breaking in, the rest of the truck has over 110,000 miles.

It's a tough one.

You say it has a programmer on it so he has it tuned. Hopefully that transmission has been getting serviced? Has the rest of the truck been getting serviced? How are the ball joints?

To me it isn't just about the truck and the money it's about giving up a truck that you know the history of for another truck that you don't know about. How are the tires on the 08? You now have six tires that are load E instead of passenger tires to worry about.. much more expensive.

Sure you can'do the deletes as everyone here loves to talk about but very few actually can do it. If you are like me you follow your states emission laws and get your truck inspected every year. If your state doesn't have that lucky you.

I can't really offer and advice on which you should get but rather how you should look at it and come to a decision on your own once you gather these facts.
