It's not so much that dodge makes bad vehicles, but more so that the customer service and dealerships are garbage. I don't know yet though, I do love my truck....

I can just see Those Tundras frame problems getting worst with a Cummins.. Heavier engine, more power and a hideous truck.

The Tacomas though, they actually aren't to bad of a truck for a non- fullsize.. My bud has an 05 (I think 05), and its alright... Lots of problems but that is due to his dad driving it like an F1 car and towing too big of trailers behind it.

If Toyota does get a cummins though.. It is going to be the exact same engine as found in the Nissan Titans as Cummins states that they can supply another manufacturer with the 5.0L v8.

Going from your truck to a Taco? I think you might want to drive one first. For the small size and same MPG it seems like a downgrade.

They are real small inside eh.. I can;t fit in the back seat of my buds and its the full size cab... The fact that I'm 6'3 does play in too.

Don't do it man! I lost a little respect for my OSO when I found out he drove a Tacoma. Fortunately Gunny drives a 2010 Mega cab 3/4 ton Laramie Longhorn.

Go for it! Nothing better than paying about the same for a compact truck that gets less gas mileage than a full size Ram 1500.

And the compact dimensions of the Taco will create much more togetherness between family members riding together. Wonderful idea!

Astartes, you gotta do what ya gotta do bud. Just don't go deep water fording with your next truck, whatever it is, without waterproofing everything first.
I really think if you didn't flood your Ram many months ago, you wouldn't be going through all these electrical problems with your truck. I don't blame you for wanting to trade it in. I don't think Chrysler makes bad vehicles. Been in the family since the 60's along with Chevy's, Honda's, Ford's, Toyota's, Pontiac's, Buick's, Dodge's, Jeep's, Lincoln's, Saab's, Audi's, Volvo's, Mercedes', Triumph's, Peugot's, VW's, Hyundai's, GMC's, Nissan's, Datsun's, Cadillac's, Scion's, BMW's, Jaguar's, and Acura's. The simple truth after years of driving all these...........they ALL had some kind of problem or defect. I say, don't be afraid to try them all and learn, be more experienced in how they all have problems, whether big or small.

If you are set in stone on the trade, you gotta do what you gotta do, if not think carefully about it, less you regret it. IMHO the only reasons justifying a Tacoma over a full size truck is if parking is an issue, if the driver cannot handle or feels uncomfortable driving a full size truck or if he/she uses it as daily driver and likes the look of a truck, with no needs of full size capability. Otherwise the fuel mileage is right about the same, you get considerably more room with a full size truck and more driving comfort. Also since about 2000, Toyota's are not of the same quality of years prior. Good luck with whatever you decide.

You'll be back! Good luck.......

I can hear it now. "Cost me and arm and a leg but I finally got rid of that Toco and back into a Ram FULL size pickup"
