Got used to it. I would hope something like this wouldn't deter someone to not purchase a dodge.

Love the shift knob, took me about 15 minutes to get used to it.

Took me no time to get use to it. The only thing I don't like about it is you can't shift from Neutral to Drive without putting your foot on the brake such as when going through a car wash and reaching the end. Last time the car wash attendants put the car about 10 feet behind me so once I got to the end of the car wash where it quit pulling me, I had to quickly hit the brakes and put it in Drive and then take off so the car behind me didn't roll into me. I see no logical reason why I shouldn't be able to go straight from N to D without hitting my brakes.

Took me a day or two to get used to it.

Had the truck 6 days now, wife drove it for the first time yesterday. I texted her to see how she liked it, her response was "It's nice, but I can't seem to find the gear shift thingy"

Ha ha ha! LMAO!

Really? I don't think I can, I know I can't shift from Neutral to drive without the brake but not sure about going from drive to neutral.

I'll have to give it a try.

After a day's driving, it becomes second nature to you. You will NOT miss the clunky console shifter and will LOVE the new found storage space in the console.

New knob shifter definitely a 'best idea' winner for Ram.

With the 8-speed trans, you can shift into Neutral (from Drive or Reverse) without pressing the brake.

To shift from Neutral into Drive (or Reverse), you must press the brake pedal IF you are stopped or rolling slowly (like under 5 mph; I'm not sure of the exact speed threshold). Above that speed, you can shift N-D without pressing the brake (so if, for example, you accidentally shift to N while driving at 30 mph, you don't have to press the brake to get it back into D).

Also, note that if you shift directly from R to D (or vice versa), without stopping in N, you do not need to press the brake pedal either. However, the trans will not engage D or R if the vehicle is rolling (at 5 mph or more).

Tried it last night, yep I can go between neutral and drive without the brake.

I thought I remembered reading something about that. Since I am sure the car wash wasn't pulling me more than 5 mph that explains why I had to hit my brakes to get it back into D.
