Default New Ram Owners with Black Trucks

I am having a hard time deciding on what color to get. I'm ordering a new 2014 Sport This week and either wanting white, black, or Deep cherry red. My last 2 trucks have been white, so my question is with the black, does the new black trucks show swirl marks really bad? I know showing dirt is obvious, I just would hate to get black and have swirls all over after the first time I wash and wax it. Thanks.

Jason

Hey Jason, I posted a similar question on wether I should get black or white. 90% said never again with black as it shows dirt etc.. I got black! I don't mind washing it and nothing looks better than a shiny black sport. No regrets after a month of owning it and get compliments all the time.

If I were to get black, after researching it, I would Opticoat it. That stuff looks great, especially for black.

I just picked up a black '14 Sport last week. I've owned several black vehicles in the past and they're a real PIA to maintain, but there is no nicer color when clean...

It really depends on how you look after it. Mine's a 2010 brilliant black and has not been that difficult to keep swirl free. The two bucket wash method as well as only using microfiber coths on it as well as a good chamois to dry it with will go a long way to protecting the paint.

I think how attentive you are and what your weather is like really come in to play too. I live in the PNW (very rainy) and I don't think I'll ever own another black vehicle. Sure they look great when clean, bit it's a pain in the ass to keep clean when it rains here 8 months of the year!

Default Once you go black...

I love black. I now have two black vehicles. I too live in the PNW where is rains a lot. I am much more anal about my car (2010 Charger SRT) than the truck. Trucks are supposed to be dirty, but nothing looks better clean. I have lost track of how many people have given me the "Beautiful truck" comment.

As long as you go into it knowing that you will need to be carful how you wash it and that you will need to wash it more than a white truck/car if you want to keep it clean, you will be fine.

Seriously, how do you do better than this:
