Default uConnect hates Canadians.... LOL!

I called uConnect system support (1-877-855-8400) for a problem and I was told they have strict instructions not to talk to Canadians (they ask for your VIN first and then they know where you are located). Anybody know why? Most likely the Canadian dealerships didn't negotiate a contract for uconnect tech assistance so they literally will not offer a word of advice even. They refer all questions from the Great White North to Chrysler Canada (who know nothing about the Uconnect systems).

Makes you wonder....

You didn't mention what issue(s) you are having

is it phone pairing ?
is it having to do with messaging ?
is it a Sirius issue ?
is it because you can't use the APPS ?

some questions can be answered by going to the Uconnect Users Manual
http://www.ramtrucks.com/en/owners/manuals/
then find the Uconnect Manual & d/l the one for your radio

Some of the answers are not in the Uconnect manual, especially for Canadians

in the USA, Sprint is the company that is the wireless partner as far as the Uconnect in the 2013/2014 Chrysler vehicles

Sprint has recently signed a deal with Rogers Communications of Canada, here is the article
http://newsroom.sprint.com/news-rele...-to-canada.htm

Ouch... well that was a thread killer.

@GTyankee. it's the voice commands that don't work for music (ie. songs, artist etc..) but works for source (aux, USB. Bluetooth). Chrysler Canada and the dealer say it's a format issue at my end but won't give me more details than that. Not even suggestions on what i could try as far as song formatting goes.

Hi Jab

Did you get the uconnect problem resolved. My truck is on order so any suggestions would be helpful.

Howdy. No, they have replaced different modules and that fixed some issues but the voice commands still don't work. Dealer is waiting to talk to Chrysler again and I should know more this week. Will have owned the vehicle a year at the end of April.

There are a lot of uConnect radio problems out there, but I'm sure it's still a minority. Don't imagine you'll have any problems unless you're as unlucky as me! What uConnect system are you getting? 5.0 or 8.4?

Yeah, the only thing that works on mine is changing radio stations. Even says in the manual how to change the temperature, but it ignores everything but changing inputs.

the 8.4. I went down to the dealer (Willie Dodge) yesterday and asked if they've been having any problems. My guess is that they would say no, and they did. I'll have to take there word for it.
I think someone here said he didn't leave the lot before his phone was hooked up. I actually told the salesman that. He said it's easy, you push one button. Yes but does it work. Voice command, talking text etc.
Anyway it gave me an excuse to go down and look at a laramie. Mines on order. And it's only been two weeks.
