Default E Brake release handle

Well I am on my third e brake release handle. The original broke on my 2013, 1500 Ram and I had it replaced and two months later that one broke, same place, now I am on my third. The dealer told me I was the only person having this problem. Anybody else? Oh ya, I am very gentle when using the release handle.

it does seem a bit flimsy, but mine is ok and I use it everyday. My truck is 7 months old.

I use mine every time I park. I drive a lot, almost 85000 miles on my 2010 now, no issues. Put your foot on the pedal and gently pull the lever then ride the pedal up with your foot, then release the lever. It won't break.

My brother broke his on his 2012 express within 1 month. He's just too rough...

2012 ram 1500, I broke it the first week I had the truck, I was used to my old truck and having used it for 12 years everyday and it was a hard one to pull I brought that pulling power to the new Ram, well I had to learn how to handle that handle, its now almost 2 years and I learn t how not to pull on it lol

I use my brake every time I park. I kick the pedal all the way down, and before drive off I just pull the handle and let it fly up on its own. My dad does the same with his '09. I've had my truck for 5 months and 21 days and neither of us have broken our handles.

I don't usually use the parking brake but if I do, I put some pressure on the parking brake pedal with my foot, pull/hold the lever, release the brake with my foot in a controlled manner. Not sure if the Ram slams loose but I know of a lot of older trucks that would release rather roughly.

My previous car (2010 VW CC) had an electronic parking brake and would release on it's own when you would tap on the gas. You could release it with the parking brake button as well. The car sounded like a transformer when you would set or release it though. It was pretty handy.
