Cant wait to see pics or a write up. Pretty clever idea. When I had my Nissan Frontier I had a spot right next to the steering wheel that was blocked off for another switch to control something extra for the truck but when I put strobes in there I had the company wire a standard switch you can buy at auto zone in the spot and it looked factory. In my Ram I cant find a place for switches other than the Ram logo on the instrument panel.

I thought it would be cool to add a switch to the back of the steering wheel (because my truck did not come with steering wheel controls) for a siren or something so that your switch is easily accessible.

I like to refer to it as custom aluminum ground bar but to call a dog a dog yes it is just a isolated flat aluminum strip with self tapping screws and reign terminals.

Now my garage door is made out of aluminum & runs on a track along the ceiling
i am thinking about using a different micro switch to place along the track, to do the same thing
My garage overhead light switch is positioned such as to face my vehicle when i enter the garage. I changed out the switch to a motion sensing switch. Now when i come home and the garage door starts to open it senses it and turns the overheads on to help augment the light on the opener. Easier than rigging a microswitch to the door. An added benefit is when i open the house door to the garage to step into the garage for any reason the overheads come on even if i have my hands full taking out the trash. Best $20 mod ive made to the house.

I was thinking about this. I also wondered what liner z-wave switch you used. Is it wink compatible? And is their a way to make it work with your smart phone threw iftt so you could control other items also maybe a bt module or a small wink relay?
