I wanted to know how negatively putting a set of 275\65\20 general grabbers on my 12 ram hemi will be noticed? I am replacing the original 275\60\20 goodyears with the generals... Its only an inch in the difference but how badly is the speedometer and shifting going to be affected? It gets decent mileage now and the only other concern i have would be is it going to put mileage on the odometer faster or slower? Im not really up on this kind of thing and if i get any negative feedback ill stick to the stockers and say the hell with a custom look. Cheers from Nova Scotia Canada

Thanks in advance
It's do-able but it's going to be tight. I think you'd probably end up rubbing near full lock because of the height of the tires.

You might lose 1 mpg or so max. Your speedo will be out by by a couple miles per hour to slow side (you will be going faster than it reads). Shift points shouldn't be a problem at all. The truck will learn the size of the new tires and adjust accordingly.

Thanks a million for the quick response and the other question i have would be do you have any opinion on general grabber a\t's? Just looking for a slightly more agressive look without firing road debris and gravel up at the rocker panels... there are mud guards on the truck but i plan on owning this thing for atleast the next ten years. I dont do a whole lot of offroad work but do go off the beaten path a bit.

I personally haven't dealt with those tires and off the top of my head can't think of any forum member who has. The AT tires on the top of my list are Toyo ATII's or ATII Extremes. Both are very nice looking AT tires and Toyo makes a great product that has been proven for years. You could check them out if you want a few different options to look at.

My 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 came with some 20" SRT 10 rims (not sure if they are actual SRT rims or some aftermarket copies). I'm looking at getting the adjustable Bilstein 5100's in the next couple weeks and need to get some new rubber on while I'm at it.
I drive a lot of highway miles and I plan on getting a travel trailer this spring/summer but I also go hunting and fishing that has me driving in a lot of snow and mud. In a perfect world I want an all-terrain tire that isn't too loud on the highway and that doesn't sacrifice mileage much but can also perform in the snow and mud. Any suggestions would be helpful as there are so many options out there.

Thanks,
Tony

I would suggest looking at the Toyo ATII's in a stock size (or close to it). That should give you exactly what you want.

Post Best tire for gas mileage?

I have a stock 09 Dodge Ram Big Horn with the 5.7ltr Hemi and I'm wondering if a thinner tire would see a boost in gas mileage? Currently I have 275/60/20.

Thanks,
Russ

So I should be able to fit a LT275/65R20 tire with the 2" leveling up front? If I calculated it out right this tire is only an inch taller than the stock one and with a 2 inch lift and same width tire I don't believe I should run into any issues?
