Too vague to answer. Both are very good at what they are intended to do

My personal preference is Cummins, it's the daily driver and hauler. I assume one would vote based on needs. Our closest town is 11 miles, so it's usually the diesel but could be the Hemi with a lot of short stops in town. As for farm and off road life, neither. I prefer to leave that to the second gen 4wd gassers. HEMI's are to pretty to bang up and diesels are a bit front end heavy. R...

I would have purchased the diesel but for the few miles I put on my truck per year and the little I really tow in these flatlands I live in the Hemi was just fine and certainly easier on the budget.

I'd have to agree and say it is kind of a vague poll.. I love both engine setups... But it also depends on what you are asking why people prefer them?!.. If I had the money I'd def have a Cummins for sure, but for the little bit I would be using it to really tow, or anything else it wasn't worth the investment.. so I picked up the Hemi, as the previous truck 04 1500 w/ Hemi which my ex took in the divorce worked just fine for the occasional towing of horses and vehicles, which is all I'd be looking to use mine for at this time.. If later on I do more traveling or towing of heavy weights then I'll pick up a Cummins rig...
