Default 2001 ram 1500 defroster fog/smoke problems

I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 and I get heat and cold A/C but I cant use my heater because every time I do, my windshield gets fogged up. I turn on my defrosters and it makes it even worse. sometimes ill be driving in the morning and notice there is smoke coming out of my front vents (just above radio). I was looking around and saw that people were saying that it could be the heater core then someone commented about maybe it being the blend door actuator motor. Like I said, I have full control of my knobs (most of the time) but no feet heat. I'm not sure what it could be. Also a couple years ago, some soda got spilled in one of the defroster vents. Could that be the problem I'm looking at? I didn't ever question it because i figured that had to be it. Please help!

When you do the heater, try putting the a/c on as well. That will take all the condensation out of the air so you shouldn't get the steam (gawd I hope it's not really smoke, cause if it is you've got some serious issues) out of the HVAC system.

I tried the a/c with the heat. it slowly fogs up the inside of the windshield. I also tried the defrosters and it fogged it up even worse. I did notice the smell of coolant like I had read somewhere but at first i thought it was the smell of sugar burning from the spilled soda so I never thought anything of it.

If you smelled coolant, I'll bet dollars to pesos you've got a heater core leak.
