Default Knife Edged Throttle Bodies

RNT,here's pic's of K's 5.7 ported throttle body after he knife edged it and polished the bore.
Post #29 is where he has his pic's

They give you a better idea of the knife edging, then the pic's of my 4.7 throttle body.

http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread.php?t=152314&page=3

These are pic's of my stock knife edged 4.7 throttle body.
RNT if you were a little closer,i'd send my knife edged stock throttle body down for you to try out,but the shipping to Texas wouldn't be worth it
Our throttle bodies are plastic based,so we can't really polish them, but if you do go for a ported 4.7 throttle body, you can hit it's finish with some 3,000 grit wet/dry sandpaper to really clean it up.
Don't touch the sides of the stock throttle body though,if you're knife edging the blade,it's already got a really nice finish.
If i remember right you need a T-20 Torx screwdriver to pull the screws on the blade

You're the man!!

I'm running the stock intake, obviously I should run an aftermarket intake to yield the best results with this tb, do you have any experience with this mod and the stock intake?

I will pm you towards the end of the week. Doing a little negotiating with a dealer here and don't want you to send it if my truck goes away!

This is my original throttle body,so it's still stock size on the bore, just knife edged Nick.
It matches the intake pretty good in stock form.

When i sprung for the ported throttle body,i did open up the intakes inlet mouth to match the ported throttle bodies outlet.
Our intakes are easy to grind,i started with my air die grinder and a cartridge roll, then finished it off using a Dremel and sandpaper rolls, then gave it a couple hand rubs with some 2,000 grit wet/dry just to smooth off the plastic a bit.
By no means do you need a air die grinder though, you can grind the manifold pretty easily with just a Dremel.

I've never ran this throttle body with the tuner.
You'll be the first one to see how it works with a tuner,.
So i'll be wanting your opinion, lol

When I first read the thread title, I was thinking of something like this: http://peakspeedshop.com/Zen_Cart/im...rted-small.jpg
I don't think I've seen anyone do that for a 4.7L yet...so I might try that.

If you do try EC,after you pull the screws, work the blade out a little ways, then use a flat blade screwdriver slid into the slot in the shaft to hold the shaft in the open position.
You'll have a hell'va time trying to get the throttle blade back into the slot,if you haven't locked the shaft open with a screwdriver.

What snow? Hope it doesn't show up here this week!! Thanks for sending it over, it's going to be tough climbing into the engine bay to make the swap, going to need a ladder!

Yea we got some snow today.
I measure 18cm on my BBQ on the back deck.
Yesterday i was thinking i should mow the lawn, this evening there's a 3 ft pile of snow on it that i shovelled off my driveway.
Already hate winter,lol.

Make sure you pull your neg battery post Nick, there's power at the TB plug.

I also give the bolts a good spray of WD-40 when i put them back in,they thread into a plastic based manifold, and WD is a good lubricant.

A good twist on a nutdriver is all you need to re-torque the bolts, don't go crazy on tightening them.

A little WD-40 on the O-ring gasket doesn't hurt either.

I slipped up,i didn't think to throw in a step ladder

Keep it for awhile,i'm in no rush for it back.
I'm really curious on how it works on a tuned 4.7.
After i ported my intake manifold to match my ported throttle body, this throttle body never went back on,as the ported one really came alive with the opened up manifold.
So i've never ran this one with a tuner.
If it's not worth shit, let me know.
Rick.

I think i threw in enough to cover the return shipping, figure if i want you to test it,and give me your opinion,i better cover the costs, lol
