Default Little travlin' tip.... (or, stupid is as stupid does)

Before a 700 mile trip, make sure that the po(s?) Of your truck didn't throw away the lug wrench. A blowout on I-81 in the middle of nowhere with two impatient little girls and a 10 month old great Dane while waiting for help to find you is no real way to have fun...

That sucks to hear... Yeah you always gotta double check that stuff, but after your first experience you will for sure know how.. Always handy to double check everything before going on a road trip. Like the first time I was bout to do a 600KM road trip to see my old Uni to see some friends.. I realized I didn't have a spare.. Was a bit of a shocker

Yeah...my wife and son were in her car. I made sure she had everything just in case, though she never has a problem getting help when something happens on the road. LOL! I was just glad I had a spare...with air in it.

Two little ones and a GD puppy? Yikes! Yeah, that must have been a challenge. Oh well, live and learn. Glad you made out OK.

Well, yes. Not so little, but enjoy them while they're young, pretty soon you will be brandishing the 12 gauge to keep the boys away! And about the pup, my uncle had a Great Dane in the late '70's. He had a thing for the mailman. Went through 3 in a year before he finally was told to pick it up at the post office. Funny thing was though, we kids could pull his ears, jump on his back, and he would just lick us and walk away. Great dogs.

One day i thought about my spare tire before taking a little 6,800 mile trip

I asked the dealership if i was good to travel that distance without any worries
they said you are ready to go, oil & filter changed, hoses & belts are good, no warning lights on, battery checked & alternator checked to be good.
Then i asked about the spare tire, someone went to get a tire gauge & checked the tire pressure, it was down to 17 PSI, the dealership had never check the spare tire pressure even once
