Question 2103 RAM - Rear Power Sliding Window with Defroster?

Is it possible to have both. Numerous threads on here say yes and no. The RAM brochure and everything I found online says yes, but the dealer says no. I swear my rear windows defrosted in March when I bought the truck, but nothing now. Done anyone know for sure or have proof that their truck has it? So many people say yes, probably because they have the same button I do on my Laramie that say Rear Defrost. But it only works for the side power folding mirrors.

Would love to see someone who says they have it posts some pics of it defrosting. Called RAM customer support, and they said to call the dealership if I needed answers. RAM support said they do t have the technical knowledge to tell me if it's available.

My windows sticker and build sheet includes a package that includes a rear defroster. But the dealership says the sliding window deletes the defroster. Also that the horizontal lines would be broken, so it's not possible. RAMs 2013 info says you can have both, but the dealer says no. I also saw a Mastertech repair info guide that shows all 3 glass sections have the lines, and how to repair it if not working. I'm so lost on what I have, and what's available. Everything online contradicts what the dealer says.

Any proof or info is greatly appreciated!!!

You absolutely can have both in 2013, I do. All three panes will have lines in them to defrost, mine do. I can't get you a picture of it working though, since I rarely get to use it. Usually only use it when up in the mountains camping with temperatures in the 50's and raining.

Sure wish I could get that added to my Bighorn.

I have a feeling I'm going to miss not having it this winter!

I also have it. Very nice option now that the weather is cold. I think it was a $125 option on my Outdoorsman - probably the same on the Big Horn. It has both a hard button on the dash and a soft button on the controls screen of the 8.4 radio, plus it activates with remote start if you are set up to have the heated seats and wheel do so.

It was something that I didn't realize mine had until I got it home. It is a very nice feature.

Ya it could well have been.

Because I waited to long to start looking at the 2013 Ram's, I had to take what was available.

I found this Ram with pretty well all the options I wanted, and a few extra.

Sadly the rear defrost wasn't one of them.

Well as I said, I guess I will see how it makes out this winter? I may have to sell it in the New Year and get a 2014 with rear defrost. LOL.....

for those that don't have the rear window defroster
you may want to try this, i don't know if it will stop the glass from icing up, but worth a try

http://lifehacker.com/5776490/keep-g...-shaving-cream
or
http://housekeeping.wonderhowto.com/...ng-up-0140583/

for those that have your windows icing up during the night, this may or may not work for you
do NOT use HOT water to remove ice from a vehicles glass, you could crack your glass
lift your wipers away from the glass during the night when icing might occur

safe, non-toxic version of a ice retarding solution: Simply mix 3 parts vinegar and 1 part water in a spray bottle. Apply to all the car windows (including side and rear) before going to bed at night.

using the right ice scraper
Mix one part water to two parts rubbing alcohol. Apply to the window and watch it peel right off!
