Default HTML Problem

Lately I've been having a problem with a sample site I created. The HTML portion does work, but the div attributes don't want to change the wrapper size.

Meaning if I add any text to my div attributes (which is the main content area), the wrapper doesn't want to extend behind it. So, in order to extend the wrapper I have to add a bunch of </br> attributes to the HTML code.

I'm not really "new" to these div boxes, but I prefer containers. The only reason I cannot use a container is because I cannot position it; I want my navigation menu to be on the left side then in the middle and right there be the content. But with containers I've tried doing that and it won't allow me to do it.

I can't answer your specific question, but it sounds like you may be making things harder than you need to.

Have you considered using tables instead of the DIV tags?

Also a link to your site might be helpful, as they say "seeing is believing".

I maintain several sites myself, and I've found the easiest way to get everything to line up is to use tables. Here is a link to my most active site

good luck
