Our customers have told us that they heard a slight increase in volume but nothing to be alarmed with (if something you do not want) or happy with (if you are expecting volume) and that they did notice a tad more rumble as well.

Hope this helps
I will chime from my experience with my exhaust set ups.
These all involve a flowmaster supper 44 muffler.
Straight muffler swap- was alright
pipe chopped 4" after muffler dumping around axle- stupid loud with bad box echo.
Welded resonator and tail pipe back on- back to nice but not loud enough sound.
Removed resonator with new stainless mandrel bent tailpipe with 5" tip- And gave the perfect sound that I wanted. I noticed a difference in the exhaust tone, perfect Idle loudness and just the exact sound I wanted. I have heard a Similar ram with identical exhaust set up minus stock size tip, and the sound is noticably different.

Yes this helps greatly.
I was looking into a mufflex 24" and keeping the stock tips but I'm nervous it may be to loud or have to much drone. With the K&N CAI I can defiantly notice its louder and has a bit more drone, but with 2 sets of retired neighbors, a brand new baby and me leaving for work at 6am I don't want to be a nuisance. I want to just make it a deeper and have more rumble at an idle especially. I may be asking for something that doesn't exist but I'm not sure.
Thanks to every one though this site has been very helpful.

Thanks! I used about 6 or 7 coats of Dupli-color high heat engine enamel. Low Gloss black

These all look good... I'm so glad I got mine. Now when I see the stock tips they just look way to small now.. The 5" just fit these trucks so much better. I did notice mine are starting to split around the brim where the double walls meet but that's what I get for buying cheap ebay ones lol

Looks good, I'm thinking about going with those tips instead of getting tips and adapters and getting stuff welded. How easy was it to do? I have a magnaflow 14" muffler on mine, didn't know if you had a different muffler on yours... sound wise what is the difference? Thanks.

With the short 5" (Mufflex) tip's I wouldn't think it would change the sound. Mine are 12" long X 5" and they definitely made my 14" Magnaflow sound even deeper.
