Default 2014 TPMS sensors are they different than 2013 TPMS?

I have been inquiring about this but haven't received a definitive answer. If so why? Discount Tire didn't think there was any difference. I will be buying winter tires and rims and want sensors even though there is a winter mode.

The 2014 model year does use a different unit. Well, different part # at least. It does still operate on the same radio frequency of 433Mhz.

So they are different part with the a same frequency. Can someone confirm if and why the 2013 don't work on 2014 Ram 1500.

Search the 2014 section. The 2013s will not work in a 2014.

Can you check to see if it will read individual tire pressures. TPMS direct tells me they will not work and they work on different programming protocols. The factory OEM are different from 2013 and much cheaper in price.

I do not think they will work. I sold my 2011 SLT and bought a 2014 Sport. I kept the winter tires thinking I would just put the winter tires on the 2014. When i swapped the summers for the winters recently they worked for about 50kms then I got an error, plus the low tire warning light, the evic showed with no more reading for any of the tires. When I stopped and restarted there was no low tire warning light but the evic still shows no tire pressure on any tire. So hopefully they can rescan the tires so they work or i will have to buy new 2014 TPMS for the tires.

The 2014 TPMS sensors probably won't work on 2013. TPMS.com says they work on different protocols. It has been stated the 2013 will not work on 2014
