Perhaps the Borg-Warner 44-44 uses a limited slip type connection between the driveshafts to prevent driveline binding, and the 44-45 actually locks them together. Does anyone know for sure? I imagine this could prevent damage if you all of a sudden regained traction before 4wd could disengage.
