Default 18" winter alloys spacing

I'm looking at 18" x 9 with 0 offset wheels. Seems like the general rule is + 18 offset. I'm not looking to have wheels stick out much if any. The winter tires are 265/70/18 which are narrower but with 9" width and 0 offset I was wondering if they would stick out.

They will stick out about 19 mm if I understand offset.

The stock wheels are +19, that means the wheel mounts 19mm out from the center line of the rim. Going to 0 offset will move the wheel out 19 mm from stock.

Get a +18 if you don't want them to stick out.

So 19 mm equals 0.748 inches with 265 width tire should keep it close to stock? I also have wheel flares with laramie that should mask a little extension.

I never figured in the skinnier tires.

Maybe someone else can chime in who's better at this than me.

I almost bought 0 offset rims with 275/70R18's and the rim guy talked me out of it and I ended up with +18 rims. I'm very happy I did.

To be precise, the 265/70r18 on a 0 offset 9" wide rim will stick out 14mm further than 275/60r20 on stock 9" wide rim w +19mm offset.

Use that link...EXTREMELY helpful! Whenever I got confused with offsets I just went there. I just mounted up my package last night. Radak04 gave me helpful advice also and so I have the same sizes as him. 18x9 +18 offset with 275/70. I could not be happier!

Definitely need to go with what you can find and what you want. Narrow is better for snow anyway. It all depends what you're looking for. My tire is a General Grabber AT2 which is also a studdable tire. But just like LowUFO said, if you currently are running the OEM 20x9 you will be sticking out 14mm over stock. If you have flares, I'm assuming that should not be a problem.
