if your doing a single 10 then it will be an improvement over stock but the bottleneck will still be the stock Y pipe. if you do True duals (not duals since people assume it's duals from the muffler back), that would be better than any Y..

To my understanding the stock y-pipe wouldn't even be used. Or am I missing something?

Wouldn't the single input dual output super 10 be a complete replacement of the stock y pipe?

Y pipe is well before the muffler. True duals would be literally from the cats back with no cross over, x or h pipe and 2 single in single out mufflers. Dual pipes are a different story and often use y or x pipes and a single in dual out muffler or 2 single in single out muffler.

this is the typical setup, cats come back to a Y and single pipes to a muffler where most get a dual exhaust hence the term duals but not true duals... this was one of my early exhausts (I took it off to gut the cats). I had my muffler guy make me a Y to replace the stock Y

then i decided to dual the piping all the way to muffler which eliminates the Y...and put an H pipe in it's place.
