Damn, the is a hearty trailer to pull with a 1/2 ton, but really it all depends on what you are putting on the trailer as to whether it will be to much or not. Im assuming lawn mowers, a bobcat and landscaping blocks?

Bobcat mainly, and once in a while my uncles forklift. Now correct me if im wrong, but i can beef up the leaf springs to lets say 1 tons right? I have been looking at some diesels, i just cant afford them and gases are a lot cheaper to mod and run and work on.

Yes you can beef up the springs put the actual worry comes in with the tranny, diff and brakes. how big of bobcat are you talking, i dont think you should have to much of an issue unless it is like a t-500 or bigger then you are pushing the limits more and more

i believe those trucks are rated to tow 7100lbs, someone correct me if im wrong, and the bobcat weighs 6200 so you will be close if not over to the limit after the trailer if you dont have anything else on the trailer or truck

Now lets say i find a 2500 with the 5.9 v8, that would be a big difference in suspension and would easily pull a gooseneck.

If you plan to do a lot of towing with that big of a goose neck and bobcat you would be money ahead to look at a 2500 IMO, but if you are only going to have to pull it every now and then i would say 1500 should be fine

A 2500 without a cummins would be fine, what do you think?

But with 1500s you can pull a good sized tandem axle car trailer, which is another option and would haul a bobcat no problem.

Im personally not a diesel fan they are way to much trouble for my, but that is my opinion. that being said a 1500 would do the job granted you beefed up the suspension, but the issue is if you get in a wreck while pulling a trailer that you are over weight for the truck you are asking to get into a lot of trouble, which is why IMO i would go 2500, both the 5.9 gas or diesel would do the job no problem
