Wow not much response in this thread with real numbers on stock trucks.
Towed my drag car to Temple tx. for drag races. Ran my competly stock 8-speed 4x4 crew cab down the track multiple times, 3:5 gears, full tank, left in 4x4, held 2wheel drive after leaving, ran 15:03 at 89mph, 2:00 60ft

After a little practice and how to run this gen5 tow vehical, I have got a 14.81 out of it. I have now since gone across the scales just to see the weight, WOW 6189lbs.
A gen4 2013 ran also with the old 6 speed, the gen5 is 5 more horse power (ive been told its the steering that adds 5hp???) but his crew is a little lighter 5850lbs and bone stock it runs 15.70 with a way slower 60ft.

after checking out my truck he said he is trading his in for a 8speed.
I would think the 8 speed is the differance not the 5hp. I do know that for towing the 8speed is the best gas truck period for 1/2 ton. it acually tows better than my old 6.0 ford 3/4 ton

No slip here.

I test drove a QC Sport 1500 4x4 w/ 3.92's last night. Very impressive with Hemi + 8-speed. Did an acceleration test getting onto the highway. Also, a few at different speeds and hammering down. In 2wd, the backend will break loose pretty easily from a dead stop.

FYI, I daily drive a 6-speed Challenger RT. In the 1/4, it would win but the Ram was a different sort of fun and would be "close" -- guessing 1 second or less difference. I know, that's a lot in the 1/4 but in the big picture the Ram is moving. Very impressive for the size/weight. Made me want an 8-speed auto in the Challenger.

I ran mine bone stock same day was 14 1 first pass second pass was 13.9 stock . Now my fastest is 13.4 after mods , tb,varam ,trinaty ,arheaders , stats, catch can I feel it needs something else

wow the 8 speed must be worth over1/2 second my best stock with 3.92 was 14.58

Any 8 speed regular cabs made it to the track a few times to get a good ET??

I'm probably trading in my Challenger R/T next year and considering an Ram R/T (again) lol

Here is my slip from my bone stock 2014 8 speed 2wd QC, just under 3/4 of a tank and first time @ the track with it. If I had used the tap shifting it would have been faster, found it to really help me when I shift slightly higher before rev limiter. 765 DA
