Default steering wheel audio controls

My steering wheel audio controls have gone out. The dealer was being a pain in the a$$ about replacing them, so I ordered a set from a parts website. Now I need help with how to replace them. Anyone have some insight? Can I pop them out the back or do I have to take the airbag out and replace from the front?

I can't find anything on this. Almost get the feeling the controls come as part of and assembly. Maybe the 'Steering Wheel Assembly'...

Is the truck still under warranty? Getting them replaced shouldn't be a problem. I don't see how they could turn you down.

definitely have the dealer do the repair, you are under 3 years & likely have not reached 36,000 miles, you are under warranty whether they want to do it or not, tell the service writer that you want it fixed, if he doesn't want to do it, ask for the Manager, if he balks, tell them to call the Dodge Customer service that you want to talk to them about a expedited complaint
don't use aftermarket parts

If your still under the factory warranty, they will fix it... You might have to bring some pressure upon them if they are refusing... Call Chrysler and they will assist you in getting it fixed by your dealer

i would get the dealer to fix this also and i know what you mean about your local dealer being a pain in the ass as mine is too but maybe going to the next closest dealer would solve the problem if thats a option for you!!!

Default It's not hard

Better late then never for a response but hopefully it will help someone. To replace u can not just pop them out as the connectors are deep inside the wheel. Remove the air bag using a flat screwdriver and a mirror (3 tabs accessed from the rear). On the sides u will see the plugs for the controls unplug and remove the button (the buttons pop out). Reverse procedure to reinstall. To install the airbag just push it. Oh to avoid the horn honking like crazy disconnect the negative cable.
