I haven't had my first oil change in my truck yet, but it'll be interesting to see what my dealership does with labeling the reminder sticker. I've already received numerous pamphlets in the mail saying I am need of an oil change in my truck (only have about 6000 miles on it).

Every 5 to 6k miles at dodge. They send me $20 oil change coupons and the dealer near me never reads the part that says hemi's cost extra so I will keep going to them for now. On my 2nd one.

My dealer threw in free oil changes for 3yrs/36000 mi as a promotion. They recommend every 3000. I'm about to have my second one done at 6000 odo reading. Both the first time and this time my OLI said 75%. I just figure ill stick with their recommendation, especially since I've already had the oil pump replaced.

Just changed mine for the first time today. 5695 miles. Went with 5w20 Pennsoil Platinum Full Synthetic. I plan to watch the indicator and change around 7000-9000 miles. It looks like I can go 10000+ with this oil, but it just doesn't feel right going that long.

I have free oil changes, the dealership told me to have it serviced every 6k miles but if the computer tells me too before reaching 6k to do it then.

Just got back from the dealership after getting my truck's first oil change (right at 6000 miles). I brought my own oil (Pennzoil Platinum) and filter (Fram Ultra), so I just had to pay for labor. Final bill - $11.00. I thought that was an extremely fair price.

While I was waiting for my truck, the service manager did tell me about a special they are running now (he noticed the Pennzoil Platinum I brought). He told me that is what they use for their synthetic oil changes. The only difference is they use the Mopar oil filter. The special offer is 4 oil changes in 2 years for a total of $110 + tax. I am intrigued by the offer, because I wouldn't have to go out buy my own oil and filter. I haven't worked out the math on paper yet, but I think it's a pretty fair deal. The only negative I see is not using the Fram Ultra filter, but I've heard good things about the Mopar filters.

Will change it next week. Normally I stick to the 3-6000 mile rule. I have a Caliber that has over 200,000 miles and if that did it, I know this RAM can. So I'm comfortable with that mileage interval frame.

Default When do YOU change the oil on your 2013 Ram?

just changed mine today at 5000k. Finally had the chance to use my oil....Valvoline Full Sythetic. but I must say getting to that oil filter was a pain...so much for not keeping it a clean process. Ram made the filter position interesting.

You are by no means the first to notice that. I'm surprised you didn't comment on how tight it was on there too.
