Default Too much bass in my truck

I have a 2006 Big Horn with premium sound and there is too much bass. It sounds good but I have the bass setting as far down as I can go and the midrange is at about 1/2 on the negative scale, hi end is all the way up and still too much bass. Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't like the way people run their systems today with the trunk and doors vibrating from an over powered sub and this is a stock sound system. I am one of those folks that like to actually here the music. I do sometimes listen to classical and this system just won't do it for me. I am thinking that there is something wrong with it because the other trucks that I drove before I bought this one did not have this problem.

Possibly the fade is all the way to the rear? When you turn the bass all the way down, it usually cuts the bass completely out, that's weird. Also , is there possibly a preset EQ button on the head unit that has bass boost, rock, flat, classical setting? Maybe that is set on bass boost. Can't think of anything else it could be.

maybe you should replace the 6x9's in your doors with something that does not produce the amount of bass a 6x9 does. A 6.5' speaker would do the trick.

I will check on the EQ preset idea. Speaker swap is something I have contemplated also. I might mess around with it some more before I go buying stuff.

If you turn everything down and you still have bass then theres somethings wrong. I wouldn't buy speakers untill you figure out the problem. Aftermarket speakers will just end up the same. Even with 6.5s (not alot of bass) there would still be more bass than desired.

My '06 was the same. I just turned the treble and midrange all the way up and the bass all the way down...

Default I figured it out

The sound is back to what would be considered normal. I did have the fade pushed to the back apparently too much. All good now...
