Default I know I'm not the only one...

Ever since I bought the truck back in Feb of this year, I park at the back of the parking lots. Avoid scratches, dings, shopping carts, etc... anyways, I still would rather walk a little farther to the entrance then come out to some damage. I know I'm not the only one here that does this!

The fiancee and I went to Ikea to pick up some stuff, and when I got to the parking lot, I saw this at the back of the lot. I could have found another spot, but it was such a great photo op!

Having said that, I figure that anyone who does the same thing has the same worries and will take just as much care with opening their doors, etc...

anyways, heres the pic!

At my campus it is a battle ground and I end parking in the front lot if possibly because its very close to the main doors and the spots are a bit wider with the outside ring so I park there. Some spots I just don't fit in. Even the wider spots only allow 3-4" of space from the lines to the tires So Tow mirrors always tucked in. Any other lot I will park away from everyone so i dont have to fold in my mirrors

the not fitting is a problem too. the oustside of my tires pretty much touch both of the yellow lines of the spot where i live. hence why i need the space!

a guy i work with has a '10 laramie and he still does the "take up 2 spots thing" i wont be doing that any time soon so as to avoid a nice big key scratch up the side of the truck!

Well mine is new this year and I do the same in the store parking lots. Park up hill and at the end of the lot and when possible next to the curb on one side.

Don't you just hate it when you have someone open there car door using there foot and slam the door into your truck. Or when the soccer MOM's children bonce the door off the truck when each of them gets out. Or when they get the child's seat out and the door keeps hitting your truck as they struggle to get the kid in or out.

I don't even want to talk about the ones that hit your truck and think they did no damage and don't get out and look.

Its new. Its mine. I paid for it. Stay away.

Greg

and this is exactly why i do it too. and i forgot about the curb thing. im guilty of that too, this way it eliminates another vahicle being able to park next to you!

Nope, you're not the only one, even though my truck isn't brand new anymore she still looks it and this is part of the reason why. I will walk the extra distance to keep my truck safe, actually don't even remember the last time I parked close to an entrance. On the windy days when I see grocery carts all over the place, I will move the ones that could possibly become a projectile and put them where they go. I get the occasional odd looks but even the schmucks have to appreciate not getting another scratch on their piece of junk lol! Cool pic, too, I have come out to another Ram parked next to me on occasion just never get a pic!

I just park in the handicap spots they are wide. I still hate door dings but ever since I got my handicap tags I haven't seen any.

That's a pretty expensive parking ticket for many of us. I am very happy that I am able to park far from everyone and walk to the store.

I don't mind giving up the close spots for those that need it and my wife and I enjoy the little extra exercise from the walk.

So far I have been very lucky and have one tiny door ding on my 5 year old Ram.
