Default led light bar behind the air dam question..

I ordered a single row 20" bar. My intention was to mount it behind the bumper and cut out the plastic piece between the tow hooks. The bar came in today and I was rather impressed when I bench tested it to see how bright it was so I went ahead and mocked up some brackets. The bar is in where I want it I just now have to tweak the bracket design a little to give me a little more adjustability to aim it and wire it up. Unfortunately I won't be able to run wires and play with it anymore till the weekend. I looked around I little bit and couldn't find any pictures of anyone else mounting a bar like this. My question is do you think I will be ok with the light output having the bar sunk into the bumper like this or does it have to actually be mounted on the front of the bumper? I guess I will know the answer in a few days but if I'm really hurting the output I would rather start figuring a way to mount it to the front of the bumper.

I cannot remember where or I would link it here, but I have seen this done before. You should be fine with the light output mounting and installing in that location. There is nothing interfering or blocking the bar, right? As for aesthetics, that is one of the slickest locations to install, IMHO. It looks factory. Keep us posted on your progress!

You're not gonna hurt output with that setup. Actually a really good place to put it so nosy people don't go looking for the easy rip off.

Wish I could have did that with mine but the Outdoorsman bumper is a solid piece with cut outs for the tow hooks only.
