Default -44 offset rims??

im having a six inch lift put in come spring time and a new set of rims and tires as well. im just trying to get everything figured out now. the new xd rockstar 2 that I am thinking about buying is 22x12 and has a -44 offset. this is for the ram im not sure how this will look. I don't mind my tires poking out an inch or 2 but I don't want them so wide they're hitting oncoming traffic. could someone with a picture or at least a better understanding of offsets help me out here

Jesus hell.. -44 offset.. Would your tire even be under your truck?.. I know with the level my 35/12.50 stick out 1-2 inches with my 17" xd addicts with -12 offset.

That being said.. If I could pull off -44 offset.. I would.. I love the fat stance look.

You're probably not going to fit a 20x12 -44 offset wheel with only 6" of lift. You're going to need a 3" body lift on top of that if you want to clear a wheel that big. There are a few other threads on the forum of 3rd gen guys running 20x12's (forget what offset). Do a search for those and see exactly what their specs are. If I come across them again I'll post up the links here for you.

But yes, you're going to be sticking out a good 3-4" with those wheels and tires. If you want to only stick out 1-2" you need to look at 20x9 0 or -12 offset wheels.

EDIT: Here's the link http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread.php?t=152944

okay thanks and I definitely wouldn't try and fit a rim that big its just when I saw that the offset was that large I wanted to make sure on here. I know how offsets work I just didn't expect to encounter one like that. ill look around more because the -12 offset is the look I like I just haven't been able to find it on a rim I like yet

thanks for the link it helped out a lot. that doesn't look as bad as it sounded but yeah a little too much for me. I don't really like the idea of a body lift either I was trying to find an 8" suspension lift but that is quite the struggle with a half ton truck

Doing an 8" suspension lift isn't overly hard on a 1500. Find a 6" lift kit, get Bilsteins for the front and set them at 2.1" and bam, 8" of lift. Then you'll just need a larger rear block for the back to make the truck sit properly. That's where you might have a bit of trouble.

this I hadn't thought of. im still trying to decide where I want my truck as far as lift, tire, and rim size. I was pretty set on 22 in rims with 35 or preferably 37" tires. as far as the ride height goes I just want to be able to fit the wheels I pick under the rig itself. I have until April to figure it all out but this was a big help thanks again

6" or even an 8" lift on a 1500 is hard to get -44mm wheels to fit not impossible but most of the time will require a lot of trimming, a very popular size is 20x12 -24mm, 20x10 -24mm here are a couple quick picks of 20x10 -24mm
