Default Scanners/code readers

just curious what kind of scanners you all have. Never bought one, prob won't need one for a while, but i'm curious what your experiences have been with them, and how much they cost, what type, etc?

thanks

I bought a wifi enabled OBDII scanner from Deal Extreme. www.dx.com

I plug it in and connect it to my iPhone via the wifi. Open an app and get all the info on my phone.

Cool gadget and only about $35.

I just use my super chips tuner.

if I didn't have that, I'd probably just take it to the auto store and have them scan it for free

but the iphone app seems cheap and a great alternative to paying for a full tuner

SCT
Superchips 3815
Diablo Trinity
Torque App

Mostly use the Superchips or SCT for the Ram and Trinity for the Jeep.

Like many others, I just use my SuperChips. Before that, I used my father-in-law who has a Craftsman scan tool.

anyone had any experience with this:

http://www.amazon.com/arrival-Xtool-.../dp/B008PRDS1I

looks a little too good to be true for sixty dollars. not sure what clear and read DTC means. it says obd2 in it's name, is that what they mean by DTC? also, it mentions that it does mode 6 reading. i've heard you want mode 6 bc it gives you much more depth of detail when you scan a code.

thoughts?

i like that it adapts to the phone.
