Default Sundown sa 8 in ported box?

Well, my current 12 kicker cvr in a sealed ~1.3cu ft ( i forget) is getting old to me and im ALMOST certain im going to get a sundown SA-8 V2 and put it in a .75 cu ft box tuned to 34 hz hooked up to my kicker 750.1

Anyone ran or heard one of these. I found PLENTY of great feedback else where.

Just give me your thoughts, the only thing iffy about is that its an 8, it dont have to be record breaking hear my a mile away, but i want it to be enough to justify changing the system up. The cvr is running 4 ohm so its only seeing half that 750rms, i planned on getting a supercrew sound box for 2 12s and run 2 ohm load, but i use that extra space way too much to lose it now.

My rant is done and let me hear your thoughts!!! I want to order this stuff tomorrow!!

An SA8 is one of the most beastly 8's out there. A friend has two in his chevy 2500 with 500 watts each. They are surprisingly a great sq sub, get pretty damn loud too. But they will not have the thump or impact your 12" has. They're not as efficient as your 12" Kicker and will distort much sooner (if you can even hear the distortion) cause you are gonna have to run it harder. I liked the way the SA8 sounds personally, but 12's have more cone area, will move more air and get loud easier.
Great little sub tho

Yeah, but that cvr is only gettin 375 rms in a sealed box and i could give the sa8 the full 750 in a spec ported box...

I thought they were fairly efficient too?? i think im going to go ahead and order one and see how i like it. From everything ive read theyre a great sub and 99.99% of people have been happy with them.

Everyone that I've heard about with Sundowns have always loved them.

Nice!! Dont you you have a thread over it somewhere? Or is that someone else?? Lol.

I did a little homework to find the sensitivity is only 82... compared to my cvr of 86.
I still think ill come out happy because the SQ, to be honest, ive always loved the cvr, but this newer model i have, just isnt as good as the old skool and silver coned models imo.. i dont know what it is but it just doesnt have the sound the older ones i had did..
Plus, im ready for change and get a better fitting box also. Lol

Ill be pushing 2x the power in a ported to spec box also.... im ordering tonight. Lol.

Sundowns are fairly efficient too, but I wasn't talking about sensitivity ratings per se...
just the fact that a 12' subwoofer has more cone area which will produce more bass than a single 8"....doubling the power to the 8" will help matters some, but there's no replacement for displacement.
I'm sure you will be happy.....Sundowns are sweet!
but it will sound a lot different
I would personally run the largest subwoofer you can with the space you have....can you imagine an SA12 with 750 watts....

That would be sweet!!! I dont think there is enough air space for one of them in the rear set.
