Of course that was going to be their response. Iron + oxygen + moisture = rust. Most unprotected steel is going to rust. Nobody on this forum is going to change that... .

Do yourself a favor and stop looking for it... and especially don't look under your truck or you may jump off a bridge. If it's any consolation, most vehicles have the sane issue... even those real expensive ones.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like it either, and have even painted visible pieces in the past, i.e., seat brackets, axle, etc., but it's not going to change anytime soon due to cost savings...

Surprising, complaining sometimes helps. Example: from 2005-2011 people complained about the rusty axles on the s197 Mustangs, and believe it or not, Ford started to paint them in 2012- amazing, I know...
