Default help pick TC

Ive decided to get a tc (2800-3000 stall). But I want some help deciding which to get. Circle d has 2 ive looked at, one is $400 and one is $500 but look basically the same to me except the $400 one is 2600- 3000 and the $500 one is 2000-3000. I also looked at the edge for $525 and I want some guidance as to what the difference is and what suits me better.

2013 ram 1500 qc 3.55 gears, 87mm tb, 14" maggie, green performance air filter, trinity w/custom hemifever, weekend warrior also will b adding 180 tstat and shorty headers around the same time.

Not sure if you've done this yet but you can give Chris (Circle D) and Andre (Edge) an email through their respective websites to see which converter they suggest.

I'm going to say they Chris will suggest his $900 custom billet converter which has a 2800-3000 stall like you're looking for. I read somewhere that the $400 circle d is just a stock converter with a couple new parts. I don't remember where I saw that though.

The edge converter you're looking at is similar to the $900 circle d in that it is a custom billet converter and a 2800-3000 stall. I think if you're going to compare them look at those 2.

That being said I think I'll be going with the edge converter just because its price is not $900 You probably can't go wrong with either since both companies have happy customers.

Ok that makes sense. I agree with u ill probably get the edge bc its not $900.

I'm not familiar with how stalls work, so if you're able to help it will be greatly appreciated. With the Trinity T-1000 you can change shift points, correct? What is the difference between this and a torque converter / stall?

Stall speed is the highest rpm you can get to in gear with brakes locked before the engine overpowers. Generally, the higher stall speed gets you into the engine's powerband quicker. Give them your current combo/mods, intended mods and intended vehcile use and they will recommend the best converter for what you want.

No you should be fine. You don't have any forced induction going on so your power numbers are no where near what would blow out the tranny

Edge 2800 in my crew. Love it and the truck should have came this way. I didn't buy the $900 one either.
