Default Getting tired of this dodge

Haven't had a dodge since new one in 99. So I went off the deep end traded off my z71 and bought a Laramie 2010 2wd in April. Since then I had to replace the battery, both front hub assembles, u-joints and both hid fog lights. Now pass side hid's are giving me crap. Plus my mileage has went to crap. I'm about to drive it off a cliff. Anyone else had these problems under 100k miles?

I have a 2010 and have had zero problems, sounds like the previous owner had some fun with yours.

Yeah, I agree with TonyG- in that the previous owner of your 2010 Ram put that truck through hell. First off, if those were high quality HID's installed and installed properly in your truck, they wouldn't be giving you problems. Secondly, the battery was probably original and going on 3.75 years old, which is about the life expectancy. And lastly, what exactly was done for maintenance, if any? Records, receipts, notes written in the back of the owners manual? I too bought a brand new 99 Dodge 1/2 ton back then and that 5.9L Magnum V8 was trouble free as well. Sorry to hear of your used truck troubles daddyzzs but it is hard to come by a used truck that hasn't been heavily modded and thrashed before returning it to stock to trade it in for something new to thrash. Standard issue nowadays.

Yes, buying used comes with a risk, be it a truck, car, boat, or what have you. If you did not personally know the previous owner, there is really no way to tell if they treated it like a baby, or beat the ball-bag off the thing.

All I know about the truck was a corp type person had the truck and the dodge dealership installed the mopar parts that are on the truck. I just rolled 112k miles and also feel like its time for plugs. So far this used truck hasn't been a good journey but hopeful with help from forum brothers I can get this figured out. New tires and new hubs and still have a 75-80 mpg shimmy.

OK so when you hit 75-80mpg you get a shimmy?, hmmmm, strange

Just kidding, you meant MPH, when you say a shimmy, you mean the truck moves left to right or its a vibration in the truck. There are many who have this vibration issue at that speed, some reported that the Dealer have told them that some of there trucks have the same shimmy. Chrysler cant fix this problem. They are saying that "it's a transfer of motion through suspension and body."

Being that this is a used vehicle it may of been used in an off road situation and it could be your drive shaft is not True, if the vehicle was taken off road and hit something or ripped the weights off the drive shaft it will do this at high speeds, you might want to slip under the truck and check to see if there are nicks/dents/weight locations that show on the rear drive shaft. Just a thought.

Here is a link to a thread by the 2013 guys having the same issue

I believe that would be a European smart car with a diesel that can achieve 70-80mpg! But back on subject, hey daddyzzs, your truck have the OE wheels or aftermarket? Are you running highway tires or A/T;MUDs? If your drive shaft checks out, I would check for out of round wheels or tires, even though new.
