Excellent idea Sean, i hope you have a dealer that is willing to work that out for you, most wont because of warranty policies. I would also find out BEFORE they do your differential, that ther is a QUALIFIED guy to do the job. Talk one on one with the guy thats actually going to do the job. Find out how many differentials he has set up in his career. You know as well as i do, you DONT want a newbie on this job... especially if YOU have your own money invested in it.

^^^^ This is a great idea. I haven't taken mine in yet. Is yours 2WD or 4X4? I wonder if they can switch a 3:55 open to a 3:55 posi since I also have the front diff and they both need to have the same gear ratio.

Just had my 2010 done last week, like others, it took awhile before parts were in stock, I complained of whining on decel from rear end, they had to order pinion bearing as well. All covered under recall, whining is gone. Jim

I wonder if some dealers are even checking the torque of the pinion nut prior to retainer install. My dealer said they had performed hundreds of retainer installs and non needed rebuilt. Makes me suspicious.

Just got the build sheet for my truck from Dodge and asked them to check to see what recalls have been performed. They told me all except for the pinion nut recall, this was a bit of a surprise because when I bought the truck a few months ago they said everything was up to date. Guess i will have to call them on that one.
