Default Dealer Vs. Service Organization

After getting multiple quotes, I finally bought a new Ram 1500 Longhorn at a Dealer about an hour away due to the best price and ease of transaction. The local Dealer may be upset he didn't get the deal. I really don't want to drive an hour for service (oil changes, regular maintenance, etc.) and was wondering if I should be apprehensive about using the local Dealers service shop??

I bought my truck at a dealer over 3 hours away. I bring mine to the local dealer. I have been going there over the years due to warranty work on other vehicles.

I was a little apprehensive at first because I went to this dealer first when I was looking to buy and they didn't have what I wanted. They also were too high on an Express model (I wanted a Sport) and offered me $1000 less for my trade that the place I bought my Sport from.

I have had a few warranty issues on my truck and have brought it to the local place. They have always made me feel welcome. The service guy knows me by name now.

Chrysler takes the way customers are treated very seriously. Anything other then a perfect score in an after service evaluation will get them in trouble.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Bottom line is you are spending money there. Even warranty work is paid by Chrysler to the dealer service department so that is another source of revenue you are "providing".

I wouldn't worry about it. The sales and service departments are separate at dealers, and I'm sure that if they didn't get your money from the sale of a truck, they'll be more than happy to get your money from servicing it.

A good service department is not always easy to find, so when you do its good to stick with it. That doesn't mean that particular dealer will always have what you want or that they will have the best deal.

I don't have my truck serviced where I bought it, but that's not because I dislike their service department, I've just never used it and the dealer that I have my truck serviced at is much closer. When I was shopping their inventory was smaller than the dealer I bought from, and the one I bought from had what I wanted on the lot.
